 s consortium of congregations that advocates for social justice issues in 
 Philadelphia. POWER has previously persuaded our city leaders to make poli
 cy changes such as a livable wage for city employees. They are now organiz
 ing congregations to work towards addressing affordability issues. They ha
 ve identified a few opportunities for concrete change:\n\nUtilities Freeze
  through Budget (city council approves PGW budget)\n\nWould freeze gas bil
 ls for all Philadelphians for 5 years\n\nHomeowner Relief through Raising 
 Homestead Exemption\n\nWould save homeowners between $350-$1200 a year\n\n
 Wealth Tax\n\nWould raise between $200-$240 million a year\nWould tax stoc
 ks &amp\; bonds\, minus retirement and college funds\nWould be paid for pr
 imarily by the top 5% of Philadelphians\n\n\nLearn more about these effort
