The Mission of Gloria Dei 'Old Swedes' Church is to worship God and to honor and celebrate the differences and unique qualities of the members of our congregation; to be an inviting, welcoming, sustaining and loving community; to respond to the needs of others; and to preserve and build upon the beauty, tradition and heritage of this sacred place.
We address our goals through weekly worship and prayer through regular practice of the sacraments, dinner meetings for newcomers, donations to and volunteer involvement in city programs such as The Manna Project, St. John's summer program, St. Peter's food cupboard, Trinity Memorial's and Old First Reformed's homeless programs, Bread for the World, the Heifer Project International, the Presiding Bishop's Fund and others.
