The Mission of Gloria Dei 'Old Swedes' Church is to worship God and to honor and celebrate the differences and unique qualities of the members of our congregation; to be an inviting, welcoming, sustaining and loving community; to respond to the needs of others; and to preserve and build upon the beauty, tradition and heritage of this sacred place.
We address our goals through weekly worship and prayer, inreach to the members of our congregation, and outreach to our local, national and international communities. As stewards of God's gifts, we contribute our time, talent, and treasures to programs such as St. Peter's food cupboard, Trinity Memorial's and Old First Reformed Church's homeless programs, the Seaman's Church Institute, Philabundance, Project H.O.M.E., Ronald McDonald House, Heifer Project International, our sister churches in Guatemala, and others.
